Labioplasty

Surgery

Labioplasty or external female genitale is a surgery for reduction of the size of vagine minora lips and give them a symmetric way. There are women with minora lips very big, drooping or asymmetrical, this produce different kind of upsets, not only as aesthetic way but functional problems.
This surgery began to be made in United States and United Kingdom over 2003 and in a short time “suffered” a boom in these countries that was spreading across Europe and other American cocuntries like Brazil.

When we talk about “Vaginal Rejuvenation” we are talking not only of minora lips correction but also of other techniques such as:

  • Vaginal narrowing, consists in the reduction of muscle “prolapse”, this procedure is recommended for women who, after giving birth several times, suffer from a cavity widening or displacement, including unsatisfactory sexual relations. In addition to tighten the vagina up can prevent urinary incontinence that some women suffer, mostly when laugh, cough, have sexual intercourse or make exercise.
  • Liposuction or reduction of adipose tissue on the Mound of Venus. It is recommended for women with an excess of fat in the area. There are cases in which the woman refuses to wear jeans since they highlight their sex and this embarrasses them, or they are simply too uncomfortable by thightening them… This would be a suitable surgery for them.
  • Whitening genital area. It is very common for the nature of women to have the outer zone of their genitals very dark.

What is the age range indicated for the Labioplasty?

A Labioplasty should not be done before 18 years old unless it is a disease. This is due to the fact that the genitals of women continue to develop beyond puberty. If they went through at an early age women would meet that the tissues of the labia of the vagina could continue to grow and the result would not be the desired. This intervention is generally made in women between 25 and 45 years.

What is labioplasty procedure?

It’s cutting the tissue remaining the labia minora with a laser or scalpel and reshape them. Subsequently is sutured with absorbable stitches. The intervention can be performed with total anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with sedation. Lasts approximately a two hours.

What risks does the labiaplasty?

As all interventions, there are risks of infection or poor healing of tissues, although they are minimal.
Because it is an area with many nerve endings also it is possible that there may be loss of sensation or conversely become a painful area after the intervention.

Is the labioplasty having something to do with ablation?

Absolutely not. Ablation is a reprehensible practice that is to mutilate female genitalia, covering almost all of the labia minora and clitoris, of course it is made without the consent of the woman (in most cases girls) without taking into account the functionality or aesthetics. Ablation is performed by tradition (and almost always supported by religion), so women cannot enjoy with sex, in this way men they try to ensure their loyalty, since they do not only enjoy, but due to brutal form that is performed leave sequels and it can be very painful perform intercourse.
