Bichat bags are a small amount of adipose tissue that contributes to uniform and round out cheeks.

Its removal is demanded by patients with very round face wishing to narrow cheeks and to accentuate the cheekbones, giving a more angular appearance to the face.

The intervention is performed under local anesthesia and sedation and on an outpatient basis. The incision is made on each cheek through the lining of the mouth, and from there this fat is removed. The stitching to close the incisions is absorbable so it is not necessary to remove it. The inflammation that occurs in the cheeks disappears in a few days and the pain is minimal.
